Forum Rules
We are a community, and all communities have rules to keep them running smoothly. With that in mind we’ve compiled this small list of rules. 1.) No discussion of illegal activities as a viable option. We do not condone acts that violate the law so we do not appreciate them being promoted on our forums. 2.) Proofread before posting. If it’s important enough for you to post it, you probably want us to understand it. This means using proper spelling, good grammar, punctuation, and capitals if it helps with clarity. Typos happen, but full paragraphs of misspelled words with no punctuation are difficult to read and won’t be taken seriously (if anyone bothers to read them). 3.) No trolling or flaming. This is obvious, but still needs to be said. We encourage discussion and disagreement; we encourage calling someone on their bullshit. We don’t encourage assholes. Please be constructive with your criticism if at all possible. 4.) Stay on topic. This just keeps everything easier to read. Yes, things do veer from the first post on a regular basis, but if you think you’ve wandered too far aground feel free to start a new topic. Also, make sure your new topic goes in the appropriate forum. Lastly, make sure your thread title explains what your thread discussion contains. 5.) No spamming. Please don't repeatedly mention any site, forum, or product that you have an interest in. One post in the appropriate forum is acceptable; four in various ones is not. We like to know about your cool new site, we just don't want to be bludgeoned with it. 6.) No hate. BoiseShooters.com does not support or tolerate any form of xenophobic philosophy, including but not limited to racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, or one based on someone's culture/personal beliefs. No personal attacks: Please be respectful to other members. 7.) No pornography. Anything that could be considered as Not Safe For Work shouldn't be posted unless that forum explicitly states it's allowed. There are plenty of other places for you to go for that kind of content. 8.) Copyrighted material: Please do not post copyrighted material unless you are its author. If you have any doubt, just post an excerpt from the material and a link to the website where the full article appears. 9.) Signatures: You are welcome to post a link to non-commercial sites or personal vanity sites and blogs. You may also use quotations, witty, humorous or philosophical statements and the like. Please keep images to a reasonable size and avoid the use of flashing or other obnoxious or garish effects. 10.) The original poster "owns" the thread. If the thread owner feels that someone needs to be nudged back onto topic they can post a reply requesting that. Please pay attention. They can also "report" the post if necessary (moderators have enough to do already so only do this if you really need help). The thread owner can delete the thread if they want. No administrative magic is required. The thread owner has the power by clicking the "Remove Post" button at the bottom of the post page. If there are any disagreements, those with the rank of "Administrator" or "Moderator" have final say in the matter. We’re not trying to be elitist; we’re just trying to keep the forums clean, easy to read, and friendly. Thanks for helping us by following these rules. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM any of us. These rules apply to the administrators too. So, either call them on it (via PM first) or contact another administrator. You can also use the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of every post to make sure the admin team knows what post is somehow offending you. Thank you, The Management Team |
