.45 XDm
« on: July 03, 2010, 09:57:17 AM »
for those interested Cabelas has one in stock.
It felt just like the the other M's but in .45 ACP goodness, price was $700-ish i wanna say, and it takes the same mags as the regular .45 XD so no having to buy special mags.

If I was in the market for a xdm45 that $600 cash price would have me driving to Horseshoe Bend!

Impact has them for 655? Tack on about 40 bucks for tax.
I believe Sportsmans will price their firearm at least $10 less than Cabelas, and they price match if needed, but I don't know if they price match Impact.

Having said that, I'd take the $95 difference, put $5 into gas and just wait two days for Ponderosa Sports to snag me one for $600. Is that 600 the cash price out the door?

I don't want to turn this into a thread NOT about the XDm45 sources in town and I don't want to come across as a cheerleader or a spokesmouth for Ponderosa, but every firearm purchased from them was for a very very good deal via cash transaction.

My last pistol from Ponderosa went out the door for $85 less than the best price in Boise. It was even less than Gunbroker after you factor in shipping and FFL. The pistol before that was also about $80 less than the best sale price in town. But I did have to wait two days.

And the rifle dad bought was supposedly out of stock everywhere in town. Had a shop tell me "nope, can't get 'em, and not for that price" when inquiring for such-and-such at around $$$$. Ponderosa had it in 5 days at THAT price. So I am not saying that link regarding stock is true or not as of today, but Cliff has never said "yes" and then given me the run around. Cliff will ask for the stock number via email and get back to you that day.

Last week I inquired for a cash out the door price on a 45. $35 less than the best price in town. But you do have to make the drive so for some it's not worth it. Gives me an excuse to visit dad and take a ride on the Triumph through the twisties.

Whatever happend to the good ol' days when Cabelas had $100 or $150 off coupons on purchases $500 or more? A Cabela's Club fanatic could use their points and get a firearm for "free." Oh, the economy.

Okay, someone go buy a XDm from somewhere. Support the local economy! I'd do it but a M&P 45 with Apex "stuff" might have my name all over it.

A little off topic, but my Dad and I went and fondled the .45 XDM at Cabella's, not impressed :(.
The grip is fatter then the XD, and did not feel comfortable in the hand like the .40XDM, or the .45 XD.

I just purchased one on Gun Broker for $580 + $20 shipping + the FFL @ $25 will be $625 delivered. I shopped around four local stores and  ask them to work with me on their "best price." Three of four were selling between $650 -$660 + tax ~$35 = $686 - $696.  Cablea's was the most expensive  :sarcon: "What a shocker"  :sarcoff: starting at $699 + tax.

Looks like the best deal I have seen so far. How is it precise?

I pick it up today  :) and the soonest I'll be able to test is on this coming Saturday. I'm going to shoot several different loads through it, beginning with a baseline factory load, and moving onto some handloads. I'll write up my observations in the review section if anyone else is interested.
