After some talk with technique, we decided to start a thread to show off our tactical gear.

alright, I'll bite.



Condor tac vest with 6 mag pouches built in
shotgun shell pouch that works great to hold my spare batteries, mini bic, small folding knife, sharpie, and my Maratac AAA flashlight
the "admin" pouch (between shoulder straps) holds a knife sharpener and spare ear plugs.
then attached to the outside of the admin pouch is a double pistol mag pouch that holds a larger CRKT folder and a multitool
then another double pistol mag pouch sits lower on the left and has pistol mags in it.
the back has a hydration bladder slot of which also has my G.I. cleaning kit, paracord and a 2mil garbage bag.
-still need to add a good FAK/BOK/small survival kit-

then i have my belt which has my Safariland 6004 holster for my G19 W/ M3 light.
attached to my 6004 is a RAT Cutlery RC-3 fixed blade knife.
then i have another double pistol mag holder with mags
then a condor 6 mag (only loaded with 3) drop leg rig for rifle mags.
finally around back rides a maxpedition rolly polly dump pouch.

this setup works well for me.  i like the fact that if i lose/take off my vest, i still have the ability to use both my rifle and pistol.

Ok, stupid question... if it's a plate intended to stop bullets, traveling at a high rate of speed... why in the world do they say handle with care

Because they are ceramic/composite and will either crack or break. It's funny to see the dumbasses clanking them around when they get issued out.

Yup, they are ceramic. They aren't exactly fragile or anything...Just wouldn't recommend dropping them on a hard surface.
I drop down prone, run into things, lay on em front and back...that kinda stuff doesn't hurt em.

I've seen those plates get crushed before, usually on the corners.  If you drop them and they land just right they can crack on the inside and start feeling like crunchy sand.  Once that's happened I dont know how effective it would be stopping a bullet.  That said doing normal Joe stuff (running around, hitting the dirt, smacking walls, etc) hasnt damaged mine any that I can tell.

but it will stop bullets and you are worried about it cracking? I still don't understand

They might not stop bullets if they are cracked or broken.

Actually I thought the trama plates were meant to deform or mushroom the bullet enough so that the kevlar will stop it.

These plates are designed to stop a bullet...even a 7.62! Ever see the vid of the guy get hit with a 54R and pop back up really pissed off. The plates will take the hit and the energy is absorobed by it...still hurts and leaves a mark!

Yeah..the label is kinda confusing. I've seen these plates take MULTIPLE hits from 7.62's (X39, X51, X54) Without the help of soft armor.
Hell, I've seen 'em take a few of AP '06 without issue and they aren't even designed to stop AP anything.

So you kinda figure that if you take one hit it's gonna F' it up and you can't take another...but that's not the case.
I guess it's just best not to mess em up, crack them, fracture, chip, etc.. before you plan on taking a bullet. You want them to work best when they're needed.

I know its all cheap stuff but this is mostly for 3 gun and chasing bunnies out in the desert.

This is my bugout 'lite' setup:
Eagle/SKD Universal chest rig w/:
6x42rd 5.56 mags (294rds total w/a 42rd mag in the rifle)
2x12rd 9mm mags (37rds total w/13rds in the pistol), the 2 spare mags are in the leftside pistol mag pouches.
Small AA flashlight & folding knife are in the rightside pistol mag pouches.
Trauma kit on tear-away panel on the right hip.
Short-term survival stuff in the left-side utility pouch (Mainstay ration bars, 25gal water filter straw, 8 spare lithium AA's, binocs, Schrade survival tool w/compass, firestarter & knife/multi-tool), also on a tear-away panel for loadout flexibility.
 
CamelBak Ambush w/2K gal Katydyn water filter (w/CamelBak backfill capability), toilet paper, 50rds 9mm, GPS, soap/washcloth:
