Dicks Grand Opening

Ok, I don't know if this qualifies for an event, or bargain or deal of the day or maybe even not worth posting, but...
The is a new sporting goods store opening, and the early bird opening is Thursday May 27th.
Eagle and Ustick at the old Joe's place. I've been in Dicks in Colorado, it's a nice store, REI meets Sports Authority type place. Not sure how much in guns they will have, probably more duck and deer hunting oriented, but new man store nonetheless.
Enjoy... since it's right by my house, I know I'll be in there for stuff and the wife can goto to Kohls and I can hang at Dicks.

When I was in Michigan, the Dicks there had some pretty good deals on ammo. Hopefully this one will too.

Be interesting to see how this goes. I thought the store in Salt Lake was kind of high-priced but they do run some good sales. It had a limited gun selection - similar to Sports Authority. Fair supply of fishing and hunting stuff. Most of the store was equipment for team and individual sports.
While I was there, I compared a few items that I knew prices on between the Lehi Cabelas and Dicks. Dicks was consistently higher unless it was on sale or clearance. Still another option is town will be nice.

Stopped in tonight... nothing to write home about, but I can at least post here
No crazy specials prices on anything... lot's of sport clothing, adidas, reebok, nike, etc... some stuff on sale.
One thing the do have sale at a good price is a 10' x 10' instant shade for $49
Gun supplies... long guns on the wall, mostly hunting... few scopes, no pistols, airsoft/paintball stuff... no reloading supplies, ammo in the popluar hunting variety... nothing special on .22 pricing or 223 but it is in stock.
Lot's of shoes, those were pricey no real deals there... golf/tennis and excersise equipment as well, didn't spend much time there.
Lot's of camping equipment, tents, stoves, lanterns, lights, first aid kits, etc...
It will be a fun place to wander through as the wife is shopping down the way, but I don't plan spending a lot of shooting dinero there...

I was there this afternoon. Not worth the time even going in to the store. Even before I went in, I saw people coming out having bought nothing. Quite differenet than Cabelas' first day!
Don't even waste your time.

Not much different... the Denver store I was in must have been the grand daddy of all Dicks because it was huge, 2 floors, and a lot like an REI with lower prices.
This one was just like Sports Aurhority (garts) or even the old Joe's without the automotive section.
Still, for camping stuff, and just occasional walking around, being as it's close to the house, it's worth a walk thru when needed...
I would not travel out of the way to get to it though...

Thanks '45...I was thinking about stopping by this afternoon but it sounds like my time is better spent elsewhere.
