Topic: WTB: Federal Bulk 22LR Ammo

I have worn out my truck trying to find Walmart with the 550 count Federal 22LR ammo so am soliciting help.  Does anyone know where I can get 550 or 525 round Federal bulk pack 36gr hp ammunition.  Please email/IM me with a location so I can at least have a fighting chance at getting the only ammo that will function reliably through my semi-auto.

I just picked up 2 boxes at the Walmart in Caldwell 3 days ago.  I also heard an employee saying that they have plenty in back to keep one person from buying it all.

I'm seeing it at the wal-mart on overland a couple of times in the last two weeks....once was a thursday afternoon even.

Seem to be coming back on the shelf more and more often lately.


take the time to find out who works what mornings, call ask for the guy he will remember you and tell you if something is in. They won't do this for everyone and not if you haven't taken the time to know the guy. He will tell you they can't do it over the phone.

It's hit-and-miss at Walmart.

But I've consistently found boxes of ammo at Cabelas now.  I picked up a couple of boxes of 36 grain Federal 375 hollow points there two days ago.  They have the Winchester bricks (in a small wood box) also, but the price is a little higher because of the stupid box. I think they were hollow points.

They also have the boxes of 333 round Winchester hollow points most of the time.

The thing I like the most is that they have a variety of brands:  Federal, Fiocci, Winchester, Remington, Eley, and CCI.  They also have 40-grain match grade stuff in boxes of 50.  Expensive though!!

Also, Sportsman's Warehouse has CCI, Blazer, and Remington bulk.

If you call the Sporting Goods counter they will tell you if they have something.  I don't waste my time driving there unless they tell me they have what I need:

Alex has over 50 bricks and says mention you are a Boise Shooter and he will take off 3 dollars per brick for you.

Garrity Walmart had both 550 and 375 packs.  I picked up two 375's because they're 1/4 cent cheaper that way than the 550's.
Price was $14.97 and $19 something a box, I think.

Cleaned out the Overland Wally World for MtGoat today (all 3 boxes) and WOW !! 19 bucks a box for federal 550's ! Luckily I have found some way better ammo at about the same price point that seems to have about the same availability .

No-One got me started and I had a track meet to go to in Nampa and found the 12th Avenue South flush on the Federal bulk pack...$18.97 for 550 packs and $11.47 for 375 packs.  I bought all the wallet would bare and didn't put much of a dent in their supply.  Thank you one and all and especially No-One for helping me out.
