The Savage 10 FP in .308 is what I am going to buy...
Looked at one at Cabella's this evening...and it is sweet...

I just need to find a deal on one...$800 is a little steep...even though it did have the Macmillan stock...

Which McMillan?  $800 might not be a bad deal if it was in an A5.

I see them forsale occasionaly on snipershide.  I'm sure Ryan (Impact) can order you one.  They have a lifetime warranty there.
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

I looked at one at Cabella's...

I liked the way the stock fits...

I am fairly sure it was the Macmillan as the HS precision and the standard stocked ones go for less money...

I checked Impact and I don't see it listed. Wouldn't hurt to ask them though...

I am thinking of going with a Leupold or a Burris scope for the thing...maybe a variable up to 20 or 24X...

I didn't know McMillan stocks came on new Savages.  Maybe it was a Bell & Carlson?  I really like my B&C Tactical on my m700.

The Burris XTR 6-24 Ballistic Mildot looks pretty nice.  I was looking at them tonight (online) and my diributor has two in stock.  But I'd have to sell the ACOG first and I've been thinking about keeping it.  Now I don't know what to do.

What can you get one for?

Also, the Savage website lists a 10 FP that comes with a Macmillan stock...the other stock options are a folding stock, an HS precision or the standard factory synthetic stock...

My stock cost about $400.  The Burris was about $720.

I didn't know that.  Interesting.

Well,

I decided to buy the 10FP with the HS precision stock from Cabellas.
$749.99

They have one...it was a special order, but the guy never bothered to buy it...

I think it is worth it over buying a standard one...by the time I buy the stock, I will have way more than that much into it.

Upon getting rid of my beretta storm, and 300 rem ultra mag, I'm considering either another sendero in 300 win mag, or Sako's TRG-42 in 300 win mag.

Comments?  300 win mag as opposed to 308?
You know what I think?  It don't really matter what I think.

Considered the .300 win mag, but...

Recoil and less barrel life...also, the cost of ammo is higher if you don't reload.

The .308 would be more fun to shoot all day...and you can do 1,000 yards with it.

Damn you precision rifle bug...go away >:(

I am thinking of selling my M1A to finance a damned scope... WTF am I thinking :-\

I am thinking of getting the IOR 6-24 with 35mm tube.

It's arround $1400 and it comes with the rings.. should I get high, low or medium rings ???

I could get a Nikon Monarch for much much less...but I don't know if I would be happy with it...

The 6-20 with illuminated mildot is on sale for four hundred something...

Settled on a night force 5.5 to 22 by 56mm scope with 30mm tube ,Leupold Mark IV extra high rings and a Leupold Mark IV picatiny scope base.

Traded my M1A for this scope (friend ordered it second day air from Midway)....should be here by Thursday...I hope I am happy with it ;D

Picked the gun up tonight at Cabella's and she is sweet...

This is gonna be good ;D
