Speaking of primers....
« on: February 17, 2010, 02:47:14 AM »
I have noticed the pendulum has started to swing back to the other side of the "no-primers" problem. More and more stores are stocking primers, whereas a few months (weeks) ago, those same shelves were bare. Availability has finally caught up, or at least is catching up, with demand. Even Cliff's is advertising "a million primers in stock".
That being said, when are the inflated prices going to reflect aforementioned trend?

Prices at sportsmans, cabelas, and other places that I've seen primers have them between $25/1k and $35/1kk and the most common price I see is $30/1k. That is just my own personal observation.

Cliffs on the other hand is around $45/1k and that price will probably not change unit he has sold all of his primers and gets more at lower cost to him.

WOW!
I have been outta the loop on Reloading supplies!
My last 1K I got from Mark @ Shapels for 12 bucks.

I haven't had to load for a while, between having practice ammo & duty ammo?

But I will have to get back into it soon.

Thanks to both of you for the heads up on prices, I will keep watching.

I was just in there to get some MTM cases and saw the $45-$50 per thousand.  He's going to be sitting on those awhile with all of the other stores in town in stock for $30-$35.

Topic? If this entire thread is gonna turn into a Cliff bashing party take it to his Marketplace area. Lets stick to reloading here. If you don't like his prices, don't do business with him. Nuff said!

I find the prices at Cabela's, Sportsmans, Larrys in Caldwell, and even the Outdoorsman in Ontario the best. When the prices started to go way to high where I use to buy them I had to shop around. And my primer card was almost at the point where I would have got a free Brick.

So I was in sportsmans today because my dad was after some large pistol primers for his new 45 and I walked straight back to them. And there was one brick left so I picked them up and called him to make sure he wanted them at that price. But while I was talking to him a couple walked up behind me and I heard her say. "Where are they" and he replied "oh he has them in his hand". So had I been about a minute later I would have been with out.

Give it a week and they will have more...

For the last month at least, they have had decent selection and quantity's but it varies through out the week as stock come in and out.

Impact has Feds and cci, and tons of both.  I'm glad I picked up a couple cartons when they were still $30. They're up to $35 as of last Tuesday

Sportsmans had CCI SR,SP,LR,LP and some LR Magnum Match primers sitting on the shelves at 11:30 today and it looks like the powder supply is filling up as well . Prices were 36.99@1000 on most of the primers and 169.99 for 8 pounds of most powders .

Sportsmans seemed pretty well stocked on most everything primer and powder oriented today . The prices were still higher than giraffe pussy but they had it .
