.22 Tactical Precision Rifle Class

This class is for shooters who are interested in getting started in .22 Tactical Precision Rifle Matches and shooters who want to increase their knowledge of Tactical Precision Rifle.  Both experienced and beginning shooters will take away useful info from this class. The class will consist of a several hours of classroom and several hours of field practice and application on the firing line. The class will last until somewhere between 2 and 5pm, depending.

Topics covered will be the following as how they relate to .22 Tactical Precision shooting
1.   Safety
2.   Rifles
3.   Optics
4.   Ammo
5.   Misc. Equipment
6.   Angles used in shooting, MOA, MIL
7.   External ballistics and sight adjustments
8.   Marksmanship, including position shooting
9.   Spotting


Class Requirements
A.   Eye and ear protection
B.   .22 rimfire rifle(if shooter does not have a rifle yet, they will still learn a ton in the classroom.  NO .17 rimfire or .22WMR)
C.   Bipod or rest
D.   100 rounds(min) of ammo
E.   Suitable range wear
F.   Good attitude
G.   Shooters mat or ground gear or knee/elbow pads, tarp
H.   Pad and pen/pencil
I.   Drinks/lunch/snacks


Cost= $20

For the actual shooting part of the class I will set up several courses of fire that will be similar to actual ones shot in matches.  This will also be a good opertunity to collect DOPE for your rifle/ammo out to 250 yards.

When you say .22 rifle, are we talking about a hi-tech type tacti-cool rifle, or would me with my Marlin and my son with his Rem. 597 work?

you and your brother can sign up on the 24th, I just need a rough count so I have enough classroom materials.


MarkinIdaho,
The Marlin and Remmington will work super as long as you have irons or optics that will have enough sight adjustment.  I don't think the stock buckhorn type irons will work past 100 yards or so. 

But show up with whatever you have!!

Alot of the class is on optics and sight adjustments.  There are $55 to $70 scopes that work super.  You will get the oppertunity to shoot and if this game is something you want to persue you will have a better understanding of what gear you will need.
Tacticool does not translate to tacti-winner always.

One more thing to note.

Please show up with your .22 rifle zero'd.

It does not matter what your zero distance is, but you need to know what the distance is.
Because of the schedule change, I don't have any zero'ing scheduled.
We will go over the material in the classroom for a couple of hours, then go to the firing line and shoot for a couple of hours to practice and collect your DOPE.



I reccomend a 25 or 50 yard zero, but I spin the knobs up.

If you have a 75 or 100y zero, know your hold unders.
