Looking for a good defensive pistol course.
« on: February 06, 2010, 10:36:48 PM »
For my wife and I. More for my wife. Also would like to know if anyone runs a low-light course... My wife is interested in carrying, but I don't want her to without running through a real course first.

Check out CCW Idaho. They are one of the forum advertisers.
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

I've taken the active concealed carry course as well as the carbine course from CCW Idaho and have to say  it's top notch instruction.
Due to the actions of the offender...

+1 for CCW Idaho. I've taken three of his courses, the CQB pistol, basic CCW and Rifle course and they were all great. Learned a lot while having a ton of fun.

CCW Idaho it is  ;D Does he offer low-light courses? Or is there anywhere to legally practice night shooting?

IDPA at Parma does a low light shoot once a year (more often?).

We've done several night shoots out in the desert but I doubt there will be one anytime soon.  The desert is a bog right now.

Raul would probably do a low light class if there was enough interest.  Raul?

I'm not Raul but from what he's told me, if there is enough interest and enough people that would sign up for the class, he'd be able to put on a class.  Not sure if the minimum number was 6 or 10 but have to have enough interest to cover range, target, etc fees.
