857 vs 897
« on: February 09, 2007, 11:25:45 AM »
Now at Hamcity.com, they've got the 857 for $660 and the 897 for $780.  which is better and why?  I'm leaning towards the 857, as it's like 1/4th the physical size, and has 100W output w/o having to get an external amp.  Of course, if I wanted to use it away from house or truck or 4wheeler, I'd have to carry car battery along.
You know what I think?  It don't really matter what I think.

I'd go to eham.net and read the reviews on both units.  When I get the chance I'll probably read the reviews too.
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.
