Not that anyone here needs motivation to hunt, but, should they, just try this recipe. It was my great-grandma's, passed down. Everyone who's ever tried it, went crazy over it. (Not literally! lol!)
Pickled Venison--
3/4 cup chopped fresh garlic
2 cups cider vinegar
4 tablespoons cumin
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons pepper
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if desired)
3 tablespoons salt
Add above ingredients to about 3 quarts water, mix, and then add 4 to 5 pounds 'sliced' venison. Place in covered crock bowl, in the refrigerator, and stir twice every day for 3 days. The meat is then ready to scoop out of mixture, fry (in oil or butter--your choice), and eat.
