Being ready
« on: November 18, 2007, 08:50:57 AM »
Any plans to work as a group. Share more than just
ideas.
As group buys using those that are dealers for one
thing or another.
Lets say that once a month we as a group buy items
from Midway or brownells o items needed or wanted..
What is your thoughts on this topic....

We've done several group buys over the last year or so.

I'm all for the power of the group saving money by doing group buys.  In the past it was almost always me comping up with the ideas.

One of the functions of my new web site is to do group buys.  JollyRoger has already posted over there with a couple of suggestions.

FWIW, he suggested Katadyn and Magpul PMAGs.  I can't really publish a katadyn group buy due to their advertising rules but I could probably do something special for the group but we'd need to talk about it offline.  One thing about Katadyn is the prices are jumping 5+% in 2008.  so, in order to get the best prices we'd have to do it before the end of 2007.

PMAGs is a go.  I found a new supplier with cases of 100 mags in stock.  I'll work out the details and post them on the new site this week.

PMAG's sound good, are these going to be the windowed version?  I'd be in for a few.

Also, have you heard any chatter on when the smoked version will be available?

I can get both.  I was only planning on the non-windowed version though.  I just don't see the value.  Don't you just shoot the mag dry, swap, and start blasting?  ;)

Yeah, for the most part, and you can also get a pretty good feel for how low you are just by weight.  I just think its another part of the toolset of the PMAG.

With the smoked version being as tough as the regular version and not significantly more expensive, I don't know why you wouldn't want the smoked version.

Jeff, If you're doing a group buy, I'm in for 5 of the black Magpuls in 30 rounds  :)
