Anybody a 'Krazy Couponer' here?
« on: December 20, 2009, 04:21:25 PM »
My wife (recently laid off) has been doing the crazy coupon lady stuff and it has been paying off!!  For instance this week she got 40 AA and 20 AAA batteries all for a grand total of $1.20!!!

Here's how she did it:
She got 20 coupons for $1 off Rayovac batteries.  Then she went to Target to the 'Dollar Spot' (stuff for $1), grabbed 10 packs of AA and 10 packs of AAA.  Slapped the coupons on top of that and basically ended up only paying for the tax on the entire transaction.

Also, a few weeks ago she got 5 boxes of Triscuits and 5 boxes of Wheat Thins and ended up making $0.07!!
She had 10 $1 off each box coupons, which would make each box $0.88 a piece.  So with the $0.88 per box and tax she left the store paying $9.93.  THEN! she got a $10 mail in rebate when you buy 10 boxes of Nabisco crackers, Easy Cheese or Planters nuts.  Once the rebate check came in were $0.07 ahead.

If you have any good deals or if anyone else is doing this please post up your findings here!

Yeah my wife is doing pretty good at this.  You have to pick up the sunday paper to get the Albertsons doubler coupons.  My wife usually uses Crazy coupon lady too.  Our emergency food storage has grown by leaps and bounds it is crazy.

Here's a quick tip for you coupon people.. when Alberston's has a fantastic buy on something and you dont have a coupon yet if you wait til they sell out and get a rain check which is good for 30 days you can then wait to see if you get a coupon and use it with the raincheck...  I recently did this with Ragu spagetti sauce they had the jars marked down to 88 cents each with a limit of 4 but they sold out right away so I rained checked it the next sunday the ads had a coupon for 30cents off a jar took 4 coupons with me and only paid 58 cents a jar for the sauce... Did the same thing with the peanut butter that was on sale for 99 cents.
I also rainchecked the sarah lee pies and just picked them up with the new offer that was in the paper last week so I received 2 pies 2 quarts of bryers icecream and 2 cool whips for $6.39 total...
I like moving targets........RUN!!!!!!!!!

Another good source:

This lady updates her blog constantly, spends 6+ hours per day on it! She does classes locally as well on how to maximize your grocery dollar.

Hey my wife was just there today she saved $67.  She was trying to do that same thing you were but the one here didnt have any of the nut clusters.  She wanted me to tell me to tell you if you buy 5 Kraft cheese products or Philadelphia cream cheese you get a $5 coupon.

Albertsons has a deal on Quacker products.  Oatmeal bars, Oatmeal cereal, oatmeal pancake mix all for a dollar or less if you know how to do it.  Also they have Johnsonville Brats 4 for $10.  THe cupon for the Johnsonville brats expires on the 8th.

True story!  Wife just got 60 boxes of Quaker granola bars (8-10 bars per box) and 40 boxes of oatmeal (10 packets per box) in various flavors, 5 boxes of cereal and 5 bottles of syrup all for $61.53!  Adding it all up we saved $367.91...would have been $430 without couponing.
