NORFOLK, Va. — Federal prosecutors in Virginia say a New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a Navy M61 Vulcan automatic gun.

Wayne Miller entered the plea Thursday in federal court in Norfolk. He will be sentenced March 22.

According to court papers, the 49-year-old Red Bank, N.J., man obtained the Vulcan cannon at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach in 2005.

Prosecutors say Miller was interested in Navy F-14 parts so he could open an aircraft simulator business.

Matthew Sutton, who was working on demilitarization of Navy aircraft, allegedly forged Navy records to document the transfer of the cannon to Miller. The Mineral Wells, Texas, man has pleaded not guilty to related charges and is scheduled for trial Jan. 20.

must be some big ducks down there.

HOLY HELL.

Either he was really good at forgery, or someone was really stupid at checking it.

I can't imagine the cost to feed that thing, especially if it eats 60-100 rounds per second.

Not to mention the power!!  Electrically fired and water cooled...stand on the flying bridge when they test fired them and your hair would stand straight up.
