Tac Latch
« on: November 13, 2009, 10:14:13 PM »
Item being reviewed: Tac Latch - Built by a good friend of mine in NC
Description of item: (at least one user taken pic required, not a web or manufacturer pic but something you took; and attached to the post so it won't disappear)  Basically this is an extended handle that allows you to rack the bolt with your firing hand while the gun is still mounted on your shoulder.  You can pull the bolt back, look into the receiver and roll the gun over to help clear any malfunction with out ever dismounting the gun.

Description of review tests:  This thing is the heat.  A couple of weekends ago in Las Vegas I had the most crazy jam I have ever seen and within a matter of about two seconds (literally) I was able to see what was going on.
Pros:  Speed of clearing jams because of the oversized handle
Cons:  It has never happened to me, but I have heard if you really reef on the handle you can actually twist the part that goes into the receiver making things even worse.  Again, I have never had any issues with these at all.
Best Uses:  Any gun built on an AR type platform I guess.
Duration Used:  I have had one of these on my gun since June of this year.  Five and a half months I guess.
Where purchased:(add URL if possible)  I was actually given mine by the owner of the company and he gave me some to sell.
Cost:  Retail is $79.00 plus shipping, but I am selling mine for $60 for a limited time.  I have five and when those are gone, they go back to regular price...and yes they come in tacticool colors like OD and black, not just cool guy red
Rating: (1 through 5, 5 being best) 5 for sure.
Adios,
TG

Yes. I saw one today at the gun show. If you want to charge using your right hand these look like a great option.

I bought one of these awhile back ago from Robert and it was great but decided to sell it due to a change of how I do things with the AR platform.  I like to keep my dominant hand on the fire control group and charge with the offside hand.  YMMV.  Great product though and it works great due to the oversized latch.
Due to the actions of the offender...
