I'm liking the Idea of VV N540 under a Barnes 168GR TTSX for low recoil at max killing power.

Read more about it here: http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f17/vihtivuori-n-540-unbelievable-results-42942/

I have the components if you want to try the load in her riffle before you commit.

165 grain Hornady SST over 45.0 grains of Varget with a BR primer all wrapped up in a Piece of Winchester brass replicates my 168 Nosler CC loads ballistically speaking and kills stuff just fine .

Seems to me I recall some body traded me for some 150grn .308 Nosler Partitions. I recon those would do the job with a well placed shot. I like Reloader 15 and 19 for the .308 Win and it's descendants. Mike N, I was with ya all the way till you mentioned the Winchester wrapper.

The TSX kicks ass in any caliber.  If she shoots it much during sight in the 180's might be a bit much.  I'm sure the 165's will down an elk if rightly placed.  She probably won't remember the recoil of the shot on the elk.  ;)

fj40mojo, As for the 150's they are loaded........
Doing it with Winchester brass priceless.....Time tested reloadable cases yet.....
The 165gr AB won out........Zero the rifle today....
