i've got to be quite honest here, i don't know the difference between military and commercial actions?  what i do know, is that my grandpa didn't shoot it that much.  everything seems to be in great functioning order.  if you could explain the differences, that would be great.  thank you much.

The military action has a lump at the back of the ejection port that is milled for stripper clips to facilitate the action being loaded quickly from the top. Commercial models do not have this feature. A military action will likely have markings like an eagle carrying a swastika on the forward top portion of the receiver while the commercial will have a nicer polish and bluing. The barrel profile will likely be different too unless the military action has already been rebarreled.

Now, where'd that horse go, gots me some more beatin to do! :nutkick: :fart: :stick: :barf: :sheep: :flipoff: :ot:

The scope I ordered is in. It looks nice. I'll have it at the BBQ tomorrow.

Jeff,   My boy loves the looks of the those little scopes.   He thinks the ultimate is short, light, and tacticool.  8)  For me, it boils down to robust and dependable.  If the cheap scope can be dialed in and then holds zero, that is good enough.  If a person needs to see before sunrise and after sunset, then a more expensive scope will probably be necessary.

Bottom line, is I may have to get one from you to try.

It has been our experience that even the least expensive optics, mounted properly ca deliver the goods, I have to guns with FM optics on them, agunforeachhand shot them as well as technique and we were all pounding targets at almost 100 yards, technique was even killing the running zombie pumpkin. Good shooter ! The biggest issue I've seen is the yahoo pulling the trigger !

Lol, excellent point Pops...usually it is the guy (like me) who tends to jerk the trigger instead of squeezing it.  But I gotta know, RUNNING ZOMBIE PUMPKIN??!!!  That has got to have some pictures with it!!! :sniper2:       :dancin:

Okay, worked great on the AR...but for one little problem.  Even with the scope mounted as far back on the rail as possible it just sits to far forward to get a good sight picture (Jeff has seen the problem).  Not sure what to do about that?  Jeff suggested getting a new stock (Magpul MOE) which tended to help a little but still sits a little to far forward (Jeff and I put one on)...for some reason the magpul is a little shorter than the Tapco.  Also with it sitting that far back I can not mount the MBUS and would have to carry it in my kit (not a big deal) so if the scope failed I would have to pull it off, then put on the MBUS.  But still it worked great and held on target just fine!  Now, I wonder if a "smaller" person would have that same problem?  So this scope may end up on the 10/22...just because the sight picture is easier with my other scope.
