Dove Hunting Locations?
« on: August 30, 2009, 08:32:11 AM »
I am looking to go dove hunting again this year. I just started this addiction last year with my boss and we always go to the same place outside of Star. The problem is that every one else knows about this location too and it can get pretty crowded. If anyone has a location that they would like to pass on to me I would greatly appreciate it. If the location were accessible with a wheelchair that would be even better. My boss is pretty good about getting around so it doesn't need to be cement pads and walking paths, just not really rocky or sandy. If they are not easily accessible with a wheelchair then I'll just have to go myself, and that's fine too. Thanks in advance for your help.
I don't know what your problem is, but I bet its hard to pronounce.

Dove pretty much fly straight from feeding grounds to water and back.  If you know a decent spot (flyway) then just move in that line one way or the other to get away from the other hunters.  ;)

I haven't been dove hunting (more like shooting) in many years but that's what we always did.
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

its been about 5 years since I tried this place, but if you head east on 84 to that first truck stop about 10 miles from boise there is a seasonal pond. Work your way south on foot through the little 15feet deep rock 'canyon' beds, I use to stir up quite a bit in there. Again, that was a long while ago, haven't been there since.

Know where the 10Mile Creek shooting spot is? Just go north up over the ridge from there and down into the next draw.
