MidwayUSA Competition range Bag
« on: August 23, 2009, 02:43:36 PM »
Item being reviewed: MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag
Description of item:[attachment=1]
[attachment=2]
It's a huge range bag that has a removable inner bag and lots of pockets for storage inside and outside,  2 zippered pistol rugs and a small bag with a mesh bottom to pick up empty brass,. The whole bag is fairly well padded, and most of the pockets have elastic holders for shotgun shells of anything of the same size. The removable inner bag has adjustable partitions and more magazine pouches for pistols. I didn't think the bag was gonna be this big when i ordered it but i am Glad that i got the bigger of the 2 offered
Description of review tests: I took it with me to practice trap and skeet shooting to get ready for dove season. I was able to fit all my ammo and hearing protection in this bag.
Pros: Its Huge, I was able to stick a bunch of ammo, staple gun, headphones, targets, 3 pistols, a bunch of AR mags, a bunch of XD mags, cleaning kit, extra foam ear plugs, 8x binoculars, range finder, batteries for headphones, targets, and a partridge in a pear tree, and I still had plenty of room.
Cons: Being that it is so big you can easily over load it and make it too heavy. Other then that I think this bag is good to go.
Best Uses: Carrying stuff back and forth to the range, and the little empty brass holder bag is pretty nifty.
Duration Used:  couple of days
Where purchased: www.MidwayUSA.com     http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=259680
Cost: on sale for $39.99 normally $59.99
Rating: I give it a 4 because I haven't used it a whole lot. I will update this review with any shortcomings that I encounter.

This is a copy of the 5.11 range bag.  I have owned a 5.11 range bag for years and it's been great.  The only downside I've seen is that it's so big it can get too heavy to carry.

BTW, $39.99 is a steal.

Jeff, you are right about over loading i was just messing around with how much i could put in it and I almost needed a second person on the other side to help me carry it.

I went over the prices for some of the other bags offered and this was by far the best deal especially for how big it is.

I saw these a couple months back and kicked myself in the butt when I did.  I had bought a 5.11 range bag a couple weeks before I thought I was such a dandy. This bag is the same size and appears to be of the same material and layout. Much less expensive. Could have bought 2 then for the same amount of money, probably 3 now with the sale.  Oh and if you load it up to much to carry like you regularly would, you can use the handles as shoulder straps like a rucksac.
