Topic says it all.  If you got any to spare, I'm in need.

They say you can pull the wooden bullets and reload this stuff. http://www.samcoglobal.com/Ammunition.html#6.5

Interesting, why wooden bullets? They mentioned Berdan priming on the gunboard link, but no mention as to weather or not the stuff from Samco global is berdan primed. Anyways, thanks for the info. Looking to feed a 6.5x55 built on a '98 Mauser by my uncle during the early 60's. He gave me 50 rounds with the rifle, but in the course of firing his old reloads I experienced 1 partial head separation, 4 failure to fires, and more hang fires than I care to mention.  The whole process was rather unnerving. According to the card in the box the reloads were 13 years old. Anyways the head separation leads me to believe that this lot of brass is done for and I guess I'll be buying some new unfired brass. Just thought I'd check here first.

or you could order some of these and reload them multiple times:

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=8503&dir=18|830|857

That is fairly inexpensive by today's prices and shipping is very reasonable from Wideners.  Watch out for Samco, I have read some real horror stories on shipping charges, especially to the west.

BTW, the wooden bullets were for training purposes- like a blank.  The wooden bullet will cause the round to cycle a machine gun where a traditional blank might not.  The bullet is shredded upon leaving the muzzle, so while you could probably hurt someone with it, it is entirely useless even for very short range target practice.   All Swedish military ammo is Berdan primed- so you'd only get one shot if you reloaded it.

Thanks Gartenmeister, I was just looking at Widner's and all I found was 5.56 and 7.62 and most of that was out of stock.  BTW Prvi Partisan brass has a pretty good rep and it's cheaper than even the Domestic brands that use the incorrect head dimensions.

Interesting, why wooden bullets? They mentioned Berdan priming on the gunboard link, but no mention as to weather or not the stuff from Samco global is berdan primed.

The Swedish blanks used wooden bullets. The blank firing adapter is supposed to shred and capture bits and they burn up. Thats why the Model 96 (most anyway) have a threaded barrel.

They are Berdan primed.

I've heard that it really isn't a good idea to load the brass with real bullets as the brass may not have been made for the pressures. Sometimes. Lots may very.

I've always been tempted to get some of this for Vampire hunting  :)
