be sure to have plenty of ventilation when melting and casting bullets.  Lead is toxic.  You don't want to breathe or swallow any of it.

steve ventalation is important however it doesn't fume till approx 600+ degrees.  in fact i have a customer who casts metal for a living and acording to him the epa doesn't even check for lead in his shop because the fume piont is sooo far above the melting point it's not worth it.
