Magpul PMAG's
« on: September 10, 2007, 05:07:07 PM »
I just got a couple in today and at first blush they look really nice.  The cover is a great idea and it works perfectly.  Watch for a group buy in the near future.

Until then:

Spiff!!

Whens the group buy, and how much for your old USGI mags (now that they are obsolete)?

Oh man, I would have taken those H&k mags, but I want a set of smoke Pmags.  Wonder why they didn't put a enter-locking system like the SG55X, or G36 mags?

Hey, those of you that have PMAGs how about posting what you think of them?  I haven't shot with any but they sure seem to me to be the best thing going for mags.  Those people that haven't had the opportunity to see one might appreciate the feedback.

Mine are very....green.  I haven't fired anything out of them yet, but they feel solid.  I noticed they are quiet.  I don't know if that makes sense, but the lack of rattling and scraping sounds while I loaded them caught my attention.  Assuming they feed my AR, I'm impressed.

They only negative is that the cover doesn't fit over a full mag.  I have to take one round out to get it to fit.

I'll try to remember to post after I shoot them, but I hope there isn't much to say.  I don't want my mags being exciting when I'm shooting.

I was able to use the cover on a full mag.  It's tight but goes on and comes off easily enough.

Actually, the cover does fit...assuming I put 30 rounds in the mag.  My two will hold 31.

ditto.  mine will hold 31 rounds as well.  i loaded them up with 30 and snapped the covers on just fine.  they are indeed "quieter" and are some damn stout mags.  they both seat just fine in both of my ARs and drop free every time.

the only thing left to do is shoot some ammo out of them.  but honestly, i'm not too worried about it.

I own maybe...4?  5?  At first I had issues with them but that was because I purchased them before they changed the molds.  Then I had more issues with them and noticed that they posted about some more slight changes.  I sent them to Magpul and they swapped them out free of charge.  They also sent me a set of their magpulls as well for free.  Great customer service and their mags rock.  I've shot everything out of the newest molds and they drop free, feed, and load with no issues.

Just got two of em, 30 round black pmags...and love em!! ;D   Fed great, no problem inserting into my K16, and round after round all the way thru with no problems.   Weight is awesome and they feel solid, unlike the metal ones.  Had some Pro Mags and they would not fit into my K16 magwell.
