A while back I got a Hogue Model 09000 wraparound rubber grip for my Argentine FM Hi-Power on eBay and man does that fit the gun and my hand like a fine glove. I've always thought the BHP fit my hand better than any other pistol but it's even better now. This Hogue gives you more control over the pistol, better accuracy and the soft rubber soaks up recoil. I really love that new grip.
So ... for years I've had Pachmayr grips on my Series 70 Government Model 45ACP which were a definite improvement over Colt's walnut grips plus let me keep the original grips packed away like new. But after falling in love with the Hogue grip for the Browning I wanted to try one on my old 1911. Well a couple weeks ago at Sportsman's Warehouse I saw Hogue Model 45000 grips for the full size 45ACP for only $16.99 plus they had a promotion going on where my number turned up a 20% discount knocking off $3.40 from that. Pretty hard to walk away from that especially since online they normally go for $20 plus shipping. I'll have to stop in SW more often and check out other prices. The chain is in trouble but I hope they can weather the storm.
Anyway, I'm real happy with both grips and a bit surprised since I didn't think you could improve much on the Pachmayrs (don't know how new Pachmayrs would compare). The Hi-Power still feels better than the 1911 in my hands but of course you're better armed with a 45 over a 9 mil. I haven't fired the Colt using the Hogues but there's no reason not to expect they'll perform well during recoil just like the HP. People either love or hate the finger grips depending probably on how large their hands are. They fit my average sized hand like a glove so I love 'em.
Also looked for the Hogue 82000 model for the Ruger Mark II but SW only had the 82060 model with the thumb rest which I don't care for. Cabela's didn't have it either but I noticed they sold their Hogue cobblestone grips for $19.99, $3 more than Sportsman's Warehouse. Same goes for the Hogue Handall "Glock sock", $6.99 at SW and $9.99 at Cabela's. I'll have to buy the 82000 online like I did for the 09000 model for the HP.
I got the Handall 17000 at SW yesterday. It's meant for standard size polymer semiautos (with nonremoveable grips) but with some careful cutting and fitting it works on my smaller Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm. Took some time and I want to fine tune it more but it works and really improves the feel of the abrasive Taurus grip. Hogue makes a smaller Handall Jr. Model 18000 for 25ACP, 32, 380, etc. subcompacts but it looks a little small for a compact and has only two finger grooves. The 17000 has three grooves like the 09000, 10000, 45000, 82000, etc. Too bad they don't have a midsize version to cover all the bases.
If you're looking for new grips give these Hogues a shot. Can't beat the fit and the price!
Edit:
Found the Hogue Model 10000 for my S&W Model 19 at Sportsman's Warehouse and replaced its Pachmayrs. Then found the 82000 model for the Ruger Mark II on eBay. Again I'm impressed. It's great to have similar grips for all five pistols. Wonder if you can fit a Handall to a Luger!

Edit2: Finally found out how to move attachments up into the document. When in doubt, read the instructions!
