6.8x45 Kramer
« on: June 06, 2009, 04:26:18 PM »
The gurlfriend is up North for her this weekend, so last night I had a lot of time on my hands... ;)  So I was reading through some post on the XCR Forum and came across this article below.  Now my XCR can be converted to 6.8 SPC in about 2 min.  The problem is I have to get 6.8 mags....  I have to to be frugal person, I already have about 20 5.56 mags.

So I came across this post and you will understand why I am a bit excited about it.... ;D

There are some pro's over the 6.8 SPC but the many years fine tuning the SPC makes it the winner IMO.  That may change and I'll keep an eye out to see if the UCC improves.

I agree with about the work and refinement that has been done on the SPC.  I still will need to get a 6.8 barrel anyway for my XCR.  The Kit through RA is about $500 (barrel and bolt).  Its on my wish list when I get a job and have what it is called disposable income  ;D.  I just like the idea of not having buy more mags.  Do you know if Cproducts makes a 6.8 mag in stainless?

BYW: I hope it was worth your effert today at teh gun show.  Thank you again for showing me how to put that ranger pull on my PMAG.  I took care of the other one when I got home.  Now I just need some of those ranger pull in foilage green and I can finish of the other three PMAGs I have.

Yea, they do.  The only 6.8 mags available (right now anyway) are stainless.  I like PRI waffle mags.

Nope, the gun show was a bust.  :(

It was a gamble anyway.  I had some fun so it's wasn't a total loss.

Yea, I can get 5.11 stuff.

Might be a good idea to decide what kind of ballistics you want in a cartridge and then go shopping.
Theres also 6mmx45 and 6.5x45 that I've found out base on just necking the .223 up. I bet there's a .25 caliber as well just haven't run into it yet.
All data is flawed, some just less so.

I don't know that much about the 6.5x45 or the 6mmx45...  I know the Knights Armmament PDW uses the 6mmx45.  I don't do reloads, well not yet.  I guess since I have soo much time on my hands i can start to research reloading...
