What I did was to buy a .22 pistol (Ruger Buck Mark).  The  .22 ammo is much cheaper ($21 for a brick of 500), and it's more enjoyable for the wife to shoot as well.

He's got an XD45.  I don't know of a kit for the XD.

As far as I know nobody is making one for the XD right now.  Advantage Arms has had one in the works for a while.  It was supposed to be out sring of 2008, but that didn't happen.

I thought i had heard of someone coming out with one last year, but that must have been Advantage arms.

I do have a .22 pistol to practice with in the mean time, but there is a big diffrence between practiceing with Ruger MkIII and practiceing with and XD.

I guess ill have to stick to dry firing drills for now.

There was some talk that Tactical Solutions might be making one.  I don't know if they are or if they are when it might be available.

A TS conversion would be awesome.

I might have to send them a email to see if they are.

Probably cheaper to buy a .22 pistol than get an conversion.
OR better yet buy a reloading press and make your .45 ammo cheaper.. :)

That was the point I was making when suggesting a .22 pistol.
