«

Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to tell the difference between a LR cylinder and a Magnum cylinder on a Single-Six?
Thanks

Mine is locked up (and it's early in the morning) as I recall, the standard .22 cylinder is shorter then the magnum and has more of a gap.

On some cylinders it says mag......
On the older you can't put a 22 mag bullet in the cylinder
of a 22lr cylinder.

Here's a good picture of one with both cylinders. The mag being the one out of the pistol. Mine is similar but blued (and older model) and yes on what RG said about looking in the cylinder...not cylinder length...*grumbles and goes back to coffee* I think the fluted portion would be the most telling for quick ID.

Thanks for the replys,
I'm evaluating a 1988 SS 6 1/2" a guy wants to sell. He's only got one cylinder and he's not sure which one it is. So, I don't have a 2nd one to compare it too. If I have a 22WMR round, will it find in the LR cylinder?
