Long range 223
« on: August 03, 2007, 06:50:55 AM »
Been working on different loads from 60grs up to 80gr in 223
Have two rifles one bolt and the other an ar with 1/8 twist
so far 60 vmax 26 blc2 works best, 69 RE-15 at 24.5 and still
working with 75,77 and nos 80gr Just got a box of 75 Amax.
The goal is to do varmints and long range targets.
What success have you had with long range loads.

I have had good success with 60 grain V-Max's and 23.4 grains of varget.
I also have some 69 SMK's with the same charge of varget that i haven't tried yet, the V-Max's are definitely a good bullet, just wish they made them a little heavier.

I'm using a 1/8 twist 16" RRA Varmint, so wont be able to get max velocity out of them but as long as there accurate thats all i care about
