I'm not 100% certain that date is still correct. I think there was talk on the Parma listserv to the effect that they were going to have it later this year. Luvmy45, Zona5101 and a few others will know for sure.

RG, you'll know by Friday if you have to serve or not... you could possibly still make it!

Plans for the LRTR shoot, will keep you posted........

Plans   for the location of the LRTR  are still tentative. Our fall back  is the  Paddock area and we have
scoped  out a section that for the most part no  one has  yet traveled on so in that  regard it will be new to everyone.  We  were looking at going south to the North Fork of the Owyhee Campground but  decided that might be  to  far for folks to want to travel. I do have an area above Manns Creek reservoir  that I would like to   use if  we can access the area. That is questionable at this point but could still happen. I plan on driving to the Mann Creek area in a few  days to check out access. Regardless of location  the following   all applies.

This will be a traveling overnighter. We  will commence activities by 4PM on Friday and hopefully get to the RON before dark and will also engage one or two  of the scenarios by that point.

You must have a ATV and carry all of your   gear for shooting and camping on your ATV. If you do not have an ATV  we  will accommodate only  enough 4X4 vehicles  to carry your gear. That means  we will put 3 guys in a pickup or   4 in a Tahoe or Bronco. That means light camping gear etc…..We  will be traveling over some ATV  trails only………..I have done it in my  Bronco……..and we will be going past Bate’s Rock which might be a bit knarly for long wheel base  rigs but if we are careful  should be sok. We will be making several creek crossings as well, some steep  climbing with the  rigs and some narrow rim rock  paths and  some pure off  road work as well. Each team   or individual is responsible for their own food and support supplies.

Be prepared to use GPS, Map, Compass, Mildots,  Laser, etc….for ranging and locating   targets. Ranges will be  from 300/400 yards   out to around a 1000 yards or a bit more. We will be setting out regular Parma LRTR type  targets. We   are  working on a night time scenario and if we can work  out the details  be prepared for a night   shoot. There may   be some short hiking treks to a couple of FPs

R2 and I will be going into the area  early on Thursday. Anyone wanting  or who can  come that soon or that  afternoon or  by early Friday am is welcome.

As in the past this  will be a team  effort and we will be divided in squads.

I do need an RSVP as soon as possible.

533632E, 4878261N This is French Corner located at the east junction of Big Willow and Dry Gulch Road in  Payette County.

533178E, 4882087N  This is the rally point located on the north side of Dry Gulch road.

Sign up will start around 3pm and we will get started around 4pm. Remember we are camping  at a location north of the rally point. You  will engage several of the target arrays prior to arriving at the RON. If you do not have an ATV then we will consolidate folks into a 4x4.

At this point weather is looking to be nice.

You can access Big Willow road from the Emmett area  or the New Plymouth area of off I-84.

So far it appears we are going to have a small  turnout.  Right now I have about 13 RSVPs.

FYI, the little whistle pigs in the area   are off limits. DO NOT shoot  them as  they are a protected specie.

I will   send out some  coordinates that will be centered on the areas  you  would need to print. 4 or 5 will be all you need.

535500E, 4891500N

534000E, 4883500N

534000E, 4894500N

535000E, 4887500N

You  must use 1:24 in this   exercise to do what we will do with maps.

Done Sat.  pm, your choice on staying or  going home.

Other stuff,  nothing strikes me  right now.

Copy on location for Rally Point.

Question... I'm looking at maps from my TOPO program of that area... problem, anyone know how to make TOPO print out UTM grid coord's? I'll have the GPS but I want to have some maps of the area as well.

If I were to print out maps of that area... say around Paddock how many mile radius around the reservoir would be suggested 10sq miles? 20sa miles? and what would be the suggested scale? 1:24 is what I prefer but that means a lot of pages of printing to cover that area. I'd just take my laptop and plot the stinking points on a portable printer once known, but I don't want to carry a generator and gas in my backpack. ;-)

Assume we are done on sat afternoon and we are home Sat Night, is that correct? Or do we stay Sat night and come home Sunday?

Any other obvious 1st time Offsite things to consider?
