Benchmark?
« on: July 27, 2007, 09:48:34 PM »
Has anyone here used Benchmark?  How does it meter?  Anything else good or bad about it?

I sent an email to Hornady asking for 6.8 SPC 110 TSX load data.  The only one he had was using Benchmark.

From the Hdgdon site:
Quote
BENCHMARK? As the name implies, this Extreme Extruded propellant was developed for precision cartridges. As such, it is ideally suited for benchrest and small varmint cartridges like the 6mm PPC, 22 PPC, 6mm BR, 223 Rem. and 222 Rem. Additionally, it performs superbly in the 308 Winchester with light match bullets like the 147 gr. and 155 gr. versions. With small, easy metering granules, competitors will love how it flows through progressive presses. Available in 1 lb. & 8 lb. containers.

Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

Thanks.  I guess I'll get a pound a try it out.  It would be nice if it metered as well as Hodgdon says it will.

Also, It seems similar to varget as a "safe" powder, ie top off the case & not hurt your gun.  I wouldn't try that with TAC.  Tac also seemed to be more difficult clean up after a spill.
