West Coast Shot Inc. went out of business Tuesday!
« on: April 03, 2009, 04:51:08 PM »
Just an FYI for those that reload shotgun.

Larry at Larry's Sporting Goods says that now he'll have to ship in lead shot from the east coast. Prices will reflect it in the future.

BTW, West Coast Shot supplied shot for Cabelas, Sportsmans and Larry's.

The way things are going for manufacturers of anything related to shooting in todays world, how can you go out of business?  Everything is flying off the shelves as soon as, if not before, they're stocked.

Crazy.

Lead must still be relatively easy to get (and I know the price has dropped considerably), Laser-Cast in Baker Oregon has mountains of bullets. I was there a few weeks ago and there was no shortage of supplies there.

For what it's worth, I ran across one of the military surplus auctions recently listing something like 300,000 lbs of lead in various forms. Some kind of 6 month Navy contract for disposal I think, in Oregon.

I think that's keep this group shooting for a few days at least. :)
All data is flawed, some just less so.
