Weekly Steel Challenge Matches in Emmett
«

Attention all Steel Challenge shooters!!!
The days are getting longer and although it might not feel like it yet, it is going to get warmer so it is time to start the weekly Steel Challenge matches again!! There are going to be a couple of changes this year though so read carefully!! We are moving the matches to Emmett this year, and they will be on TUESDAY nights. We will start on April 7th.
We will set up at about 4:30 and start shooting around 5:00. We will run the same format we did last year shooting four stages the first week and the other four stages the second week. We will alternate back and forth. These are the same stages you would shoot if you went to the World Shoot off's in Piru, CA. We are going to charge $5 GUN and kids under 18 are FREE. This means if you want to shoot a couple of different guns, you can. .22's, 9mm's, .40's, 10mm, .380, .45's, .22 rifle...any gun you want .45 and smaller. We will have classes for iron sights, .22, revolver, open, and open .22.
You will need a minimum of 125 rounds. If you are shooting a .22 you don't need a holster as you will be shooting from low ready. This is a "stand and shoot" match so it is a great match for kids and new shooters. If you have a kid that wants to come and shoot, let me know ahead of time, and I will bring a .22 pistol AND ammo for them. This offer is only good for their first match. After that, they will need to provide their own ammo.
This match is a lot of fun. Come out and give it a try!!
Adios,
TG

Sounds like cheap fun to me. I'll have to give it a try. Maybe bring the whole family out.

I wasn't planning to join the gun club in Emmett until after I move to a different house in the area and I was wondering if you can watch or participate a one of the matches up there without being a member of the club.

You don't have to be a memeber to shoot any of the matches in Emmett. I have to warn you. If you come out to watch, bring your gun. If you don't, you'll wish you you had! It is a great time.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump. I missed it, but I guess we had a huge turnout last night for the SC match. From the sounds of it, there were a bunch of new shooters too! That is just great!
We will be holding the match next week as well, and when things settle down after the Ironman, I'll be back out to help. If you have thought about shooting this, but haven't come out, you should. It is a great time.

2nd Steel Challenge was just as much fun as the last one! Didn't have quite the turn out this week as MOPEMAN and his wife didn't show, but I brought my wife to make up for their absence and she had a ball! Thanks to Jim and Raul for ROing and encouraging my wife. I understand that there will be no event next week, but I gotta work anyways, so when will these events start back up regular?

I believe they are back on the 30th....after the Ironman and the USPSA Area One Championships...
I heard you all shooting last night, I could even hear the steel ringing. I was digging up a septic tank cover. Umm, good times.
