Benelli Nova sling options
« on: July 11, 2007, 10:48:40 PM »
Anyone here have a Benelli Nova?  If so, I'm looking for the best solution for using a tactical two-point sling on it.  Any experience would be appreciated, it seems no one on the interweb has tried it before or has a solution (or my search-fu has been weak the last two nights).  I don't want an over-the-shoulder hunting sling, I was hoping to throw a Vickers Tactical sling on it.  If not, there are a few options for single point slings but I'd rather have a two-point.  Thanks.

Have you run a simple hunting sling on it just to try and see what you want & what would work best in a given situation/mission.  I'd try that before buying a $50 gimmick "tactical sling" ;D.

My thoughts on slings...simple is good.

I have a Benelli SBE with a simple hunting sling...well, it is a sweet "Advantage Timber" to match the gun.  Its main use is to sling the gun while between stages of a shoot, walking out after upland game through low probability areas, or back at the clubhouse to have it slung over your shoulder (while striking a Captain Morgan pose) so other can bask in my awesomeness

I can't hear you over the sound of my own awesomeness.

I agree on the simple part, but if a sling is going to be used for more than throwing the weapon on your shoulder and walking around I don't think the hunting sling is the best option (of course, anything you have/use/train with will work to some degree).  I'm just looking to pull the weapon close to the body in a low-ready or position-sul, and I want the weapon ready to manipulate if i've transitioned to my sidearm, not upside down because the sling is attached to the swivels on the underside.
