Dont be a moron! If it breaks call the company!
« on: February 03, 2007, 01:39:02 PM »
I'm not sure why I dont think of this shit when it happens...but from now on when I have kit that breaks I'm going to call the company.  Several times now I've had gear, accessories, parts, etc., break or go down and instead of calling the company up, who when reading their threads are more than willing to replace TU gear, I end up tossing it, buying a replacement and not saying anything.

If you dont already do this, learn from my dumb mistakes!

Yep, you'd be amazed at what some companies will do for you.

Couple examples:

Aimpoint:  I called to order a set of new style adjustment caps that use the rubber retaining strap for an older Aimpoint Comp MXD that I use to own.  Paul in customer service sent me out the caps and strap for free!

Magpul:  I ordered Bolt a Magpul PRS stock for his AR10 directly from Magpul since we couldn't find a Black colored one anywhere in stock.  Magpul was behind in their shipments due to the snow storm they had back in January so the material they needed to mold the stocks didn't make it through.  Rick at Magpul took care of us and sent one out to us ahead of shipments to his distributors and saved us a couple more weeks waiting.

Ace sent me a part for a stock for free.  I even told them I bought it used.  No company wants to get a bad rap for customer service.  If you're nice they probably will be too.

when i bought my AR, and got home to fondle it, i noticed the mag catch was broke.  called a few places in town, but noone had them in stock or would've had to order them. (which i would've had to pay for)

So for shits and giggles, i called BM,  they sent one out to me, free of charge, the next day.

Busted a Troy BUIS, Troy sent me a new one at no charge ($140 sight btw).  CavArms stock went TU after probably two years of abuse, I posted about it in an arfcom thread, CavArms is now sending me a new improved version.    Got a side swivel sling mount from BravoCo that wouldnt fit my barrel.  They sent me another one free of charge.

Ones I should have called on...Sabre Defense middy upper with a loose barrel. :-[   Rather than calling them up, I fixed it and sold the thing out of spite.

Cant remember any others right off the top of my head right now, but I'm sure there were a few more.
