Mossberg Rifles?
« on: June 14, 2007, 08:04:57 PM »
I'm shopping for a new hunting rifle and I'm on a bit of the a budget.  Does anyone have any experience with Mossberg rifles?  Their new 4x4 line looks promising, but I can't find much on them.  Any input would be great.  Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know anything about them.  I did, however, see that Impact had a Mossberg rifle in stock.  If you haven't seen one in person you might want to stop in and check it out (assuming it's still there).

I do not know anything about the rifles, but we have a Mossberg shotgun and  it spent a night at the bottom of the river and still works great. It was a good price and performs just as well as most others on the market.

went back the next day with a 4 foot magnet from tates rents and got that bastard back too.  it was only like 3 weeks old and only the second time i'd had it out.

on a side note, the boise river is damn cold in January.

oh, and don't wear a down vest and a down coat and sling two bandoliers full of shells over your sholders either..............makes it harder to swim to shore.

Personally, if I were looking for a new rifle and wanted to go checp I'd be giving Savage a lot of thought.  The new accutriggers seem to be really nice.  I think that overall their accuracy is better than average too.

Talk about a brain fart.  I commented above about Mossberg, but I was thinking Savage.  I agree, it would be a good idea to check out Savage.  Good action and good barrels.  I have a M112-S in .308 that is very accurate.

So, no one has actually seen one of the new 4x4s?
