I've heard mixed reviews on it... very mixed in .223. I never had any problems shooting their pistol stuff... but I've heard the laquer on the casings can cause problems with trying to extract regular brass, especially in tight chambers.
the newer wolf amo is polymer coated instead of lacqer
FYI, My wife went and picked up the last four cases they had on the shelf at lunch . Not sure if they had more in the back or not.
The problem doesn't really have to do with the coating. The steel cases expand slower than brass. So, the steel cased ammo is more likely to cause some carbon buildup in the chamber. This is OK if you just use steel cases (until you clean the chamber). If you mix steel and brass (without a chamber cleaning) you are likely to get a brass case stuck because the chamber has some carbon buildup.BTW, you can still get both.
Yeah, I have a tight chamber on the s&w. The primers flatten out on wolf in it too. I understand that most folks on AR15.com advise running 1k brass down range to wear in the barrel before using wolf.
I think in my case my AR isn't broken in yet.if not that, i got a bad batch.
Tried 60 rounds of PMC in my AR today (great ammo btw)Then tried 60 rounds of this wolf, every other round failed to feed, 7 failed to extract, and 2 cases stuck.(New rifle BTW)
It's probably Wolf-related, BUTdoes your AR have the 5-coil extractor spring and black o-ring and insert? And is it a 5.56 chamber or .223?
I got the last case this morning. Some jackass tried to hide it among the other ammo. Its all mine now AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
