I've got a Corbin press but no dies.  Never could justify the cost.  My pops used to make 115grn bonded HP .25 bullets for his.250 Savage on the press and handed it down to me a few years ago.  The dies he had he loaned to a friend years ago who later died and the dies were lost somewhere in his estate.  I'd be interested in a group buy on the dies and we could pass around the equipment as needed.

I've been doing this since 1984.  The bullets work well.  Besides the expense of getting set up, it is somewhat time consuming and that puts a lot of people off.

Here is a post from arfcom about the procedure, unfortunately, the photos have disappeared.  It gives a fair description of what is involved.  The posts by "ofreenbean' are mine.

http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=408

From Corbin's website -

http://www.corbins.com/prrfjm.htm

I have made and loaded thousands of these, 99% in .223.  They are as accurate as any run of the mill .224 bullet, which is to say pretty accurate.  Sub-MOA is doable.  They work fine in a 1 x 7 twist.

I started with the reloading press dies, after about a year going to the swaging press and dies.   The swaging press is little faster, but the reloading press dies work OK.  The big advantage the dedicated press is the ability to swage the cores, which makes it a lot easier to get consistent bullet weights.

The process is not hard, though there is a lot to it and there is a bit of a learning curve, mainly in the preparation of the jackets.  If anybody is interested in more details or help in getting set up, just let me know.

The Cast Boolits forum has a swaging section, too.

I wasnt aware there was a shortage?  I have been trying to sell 1000 rounds havent even got a bite.  If there is a shortage guess I will hold onto them.

highwall,
What does your press look like?  Mine doesn't look anything like the ones on the Corbin website.  I'm wondering if my press is obsolete and dies are no longer available for it.

Mine is what they used to call the CSP-1.  They use the same name on their newer press, but it is a different design.  Mine is a variation of the Mity-Mite design.  This one differs from the basic Mity-Mite type with its bridge across the opening, and is made from beryllium copper instead of cast iron.  All the Mity-Mite type presses take the type M dies.  They are still available from Corbin.  I just took a look at Corbin's price list  I am glad I already have mine. ;D  Seems high, but I think if I figured in inflation over the last 25 years, they are cheaper now.

Here is mine.  I wonder how many times I've cranked the handle on the damn thing.

At the same time, your Ammo is increasing in value with each passing month. Pretty soon you just might be ablw to walk into a store with 12 rds, and walk out with a 12 pack of cold ones.

The price for just a 2-die set is incredibly steep, it would probably take at least a few thousand rounds just to begin breaking even.

How much for a six pack sir?  Well lets see that will be 4 .223s  3 9mms and 2 .22s.   Ammo the new money.  Or you can just stick a barrel in someones face and not spend a round.  Holy shit I think the scumbags holding up 7-11s are way ahead of the curve.

I've noticed that while wally world is out of ALL 9 and 45, it has plenty (3000?) of remington (I think rem.) 55gr. fmj at $40 per hundred.

Was in Cliff's today and he's got lots of .223 up front.  Expensive, but there is lots of it.
