Topic: $18 Wellco Issue Boots!

Found this deal on another site and figured I'd post it here for everyone.  These are factory seconds, but should be ok excepts for marks and maybe some stitching (or so they say, who knows but for $18 your not out much if they are totally FUBAR).  I was issued a pair of these in Ky and liked them, ended up buying another pair when I got back after being told mine were no longer fit for service.  Anyway, just ordered two pairs.  Enjoy.

Do they run to size for you?

Unfortunately, like most issue boots (that I've seen in my very limited .mil experience anyway) the sizes are all screwed up.  I wear a solid 12 in nearly all my civilian footwear to include mountaineering boots, hiking boots, city shoes, etc and have since I was about 17.  But, with these I wear a 10.5 Narrow.  So unless you know what size you are in military boots for sure it might be a bit of a gamble.  But hey, they're only $18 and you can send them back or ebay them if they dont fit.

.mil boots are always screwy with sizes, in 4 years I've had boots from 9 to 10.5, they were all diffrent makes but fit the same.

Same experiance here, Two boots I have (this kind) are 9.0  and one is 10..5 narrow and they bopth fit the same.

I actually got mine today.  Both pais look good to me, no major flaws on them at all.  What's crazy is that these fit, feel and look better than the pair I bought when I first got back for $100....and those weren't seconds!!!

That is correct.  I wear a 12 in ALL my other footwear, with these I wear a 10.5.  So for me these Wellco's run about 1.5 sizes smaller than my other shoes.

Got my boots in today. I wear a 10 normally, and I ordered a 9.

Perfect fit, can't tell what's wrong with the boot. Great find. Thanks for the advice on ordering them JR, I probably wouldn't have even looked twice, but since you brought it up and noted the size issue.

wish I had seen this thread back when they had men's sizes left, I could go for a couple pairs of $20 boots!
