Yeah they guys who do this stuff should have their faces visible so we know who it is that should be responsible for actions.

Seriously doubt it's because of the cold this is pretty standard these days for swat and entry teams etc. to wear masks.

Eh, I wont speak for other "goons" but many SOU or SWAT operators have good reason for masks. Often times the guy who is on the swat team is also a narcotics detective. Its true that there is a certain intimidation factor when it comes to tactical entry and the baclava plays into that but there are other reasons as well. Just a thought to ponder

From the horses mouth, NPD TRT, the reason for the balclava is to help scare whomever they are effecting entry on.

Don't forget that the nomex material of the mask will help when flashbangs are being deployed. If you've ever been near one outdoors let alone indoors you'll want goggles and a nomex facemask.
