9mm in the Valley
« on: January 11, 2009, 06:49:32 PM »
Went to 2 Walmarts (fairview and eagle, and nampa) and Sportsman's Warehouse (Meridian) and there is no 9mm anywhere.  Anyone know of any place that has a decent stock still at decent prices?  Almost put a damper on my range trip today.

I'd like to know too.  I got one of the last boxes of WWB 9mm *last week* at the wally world on Fairview/Eagle.  At that time they were also out of all .22LR which I also was planning on shooting that day.  I saw this weekend they had 2 cases of .22 but still no 9mm.  In fact it looked to me that they had primarily .40 and not much of any other pistol caliber.  Are they selling low in preparation for the inauguration?  New ammo laws they they think/know are coming?  Hmm...

One week ago both the Meridian and Boise Walmarts had 9mm up the yingyang...not quite sure what happened to it between then and now. Maybe the panic buying is picking up again?

someone probably bought it all, dumped it in a ammo can, took it to the gun show and marked it up!

I just don't get the panic buying of 9mm.  Arggh...firearms, ok, magazines, ok, but ammo?

Anyways, had a good stash so didn't matter, but now I need to replenish.

Because ammunition is most likely the first thing to go. Also one of the easiest things to place taxes and regulations on.

What good are all those firearms and mags if you cant feed them?  For a guy like me who has plenty of weapons and mags I dont need another AR, Glock or 50 more mags for them.  I need more ammo for them.

Last year everyone was all over the .223 and there were thousands of rounds of 9mm everywhere.  Now everywhere has .223 but no 9mm.  None at Sportmans, Cabelas, All the Walmarts etc.  Plenty of .45 and .40.  Why is everyone hoarding 9mm now?

I'm only mentioning this because I don't own anything in 9mm, but Turners on State street has/had a metric shit ton of Winchester white box FMJ 9mm last week.

Take this as an encouragement. Why do you have to go buy more ammo before going to the range? Work towards always having your SHTF stock that you don't touch as well as a moderate practice lot that you replentish on occasion so you don't have to rely on supply issues in the short-run! :D

Standard has been running about $22 per 100 rounds lately... unless the price went up yet again. ;)

I just came home from Cabela's and they had quite a few boxes of Magtech 9mm FMJ at 13.99 each.  Not the best ammo or deal but if anyone needs some, there it is.
