TWIN FALLS -- Customers at a Twin Falls supermarket helped detain and disarm a 23-year-old California man police say tried to shoplift.

Dagon Williams, a 23-year-old, was at Smith's Grocery when another customer said he saw him trying to shoplift.

A clerk approached Williams -- along with several other customers who tried to help.

After a brief struggle, witnesses told police that he drew a handgun.

Customers then wrestled the weapon away from Williams and he was taken into custody a short time later when police arrived.

Williams was arrested Saturday on suspicion of aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
