Vesper will be there.
Whether she comes out to play will be up to her.
However, she loves to see steel cower in fear!

vesper:

–noun 1. (initial capital letter) the evening star, esp. Venus; Hesper.
2. Also called vesper bell. a bell rung at evening.
3. vespers, (sometimes initial capital letter) Ecclesiastical. a. a religious service in the late afternoon or the evening.
b. the sixth of the seven canonical hours, or the service for it, occurring in the late afternoon or the evening.
c. Roman Catholic Church. a part of the office to be said in the evening by those in major orders, frequently made a public ceremony in the afternoons or evenings of Sundays and holy days.
d. evensong.

4. Archaic. evening.
–adjective 5. of, pertaining to, appearing in, or proper to the evening.
6. of or pertaining to vespers.

Basically, means the last prayer of the day, thus the rifle named Vesper, because when she lines up on you, it's light's out.

It's the only gun I have named.....................so far.

Hmmm naming a rifle is perhaps an acceptable form of bonding?

Nice Zona, I thought maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!

I am looking forward to the match actually as I have not been out shooting the rifle for quite some time now. Something about a small car with low profile wheels does not fair well with unimproved roads and several inches of snow.

Looking forward to doing some distance shooting and getting that long awaited cold weather data logged.

I got work off so I'll be there as well! that is, if I can reload 100rds after work friday ::) Anyways, I have yet to take my gun past 200 yards, but I'm shooting almost 1/4 moa at 200. Sounds like this event is pretty first-timer freindly, but does anyone have any suggestions what I should do to prepare for much farther distances than what I'm use to? online balistic calculator?

You will have a blast, and learn a lot! I do every time I take my gun (sorry I don't have a cute name for it yet) out for a spin.  ;D

My first LRTR last Jan, was with a new gun too, only had about 20 rounds through it. Printed out some ballistic tables from Eskimo http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/calculations/calculations.html They worked good enough at the time, and my rifle out shot me, and I'm slowly catching up to it.  :)

Any spectators want to carpool out to Parma with me?  I'm going out early to help setup and then coming back to Boise around 1:00.

quick question for you reloaders. I have built up a load using nosler brass, but all I have to load up tonight for tomorrow is lapua. How bad is it if I swap brass with same load? accuracy wise... do they have a check zero session or free fire time before it starts?

They're going to have a chrono there and someone is bound to have software (I think luvmy45 or zona5101 has Exbal on his PDA). Should be easy to come up with a dope chart and you ought to be able to get yourself zeroed to 100 somewhere.

I drove out to the pistol pits to do my monthly rifle qual. There were quite a few rigs parked up on top. Looked like a good turnout.
