I think a friend got one because he couldn't draw a bow anymore.  Something to do with a shoulder injury.  Apparently he got some waiver so he could use it during bow season.  I'll ask him next time I talk to him.
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

I went on a bow hunt with a buddy of mine that has a degenerative shoulder joint.   He obtained a letter from his Doctor and went down to the Fish and Game and was issued a waiver allowing him to hunt with a crossbow.   I don’t know much about crossbows but what I can tell you is that his arrow flew a heck of a lot faster than my bow that I have set at 70 pounds.

The bad thing is that in order to de-cock the crossbow you have to shoot the arrow.  You can’t just let it off (as far as I know).   He also had to have it knocked up all the time too which could lead to an AD if you’re not careful.
What's that? You want a high speed lead injection?
