Owyhee hike!
« on: April 05, 2007, 04:58:21 PM »
Last week my brother and I took off towards Murphy to do some hiking.  Found a sweet hill/mountain to climb up...weather was great but there were ticks out.  In one area on the way up I was brushing 2-3 of the little bastards off my legs every couple of steps.  Anyway, here's a few pics:

The mountain we climbed.  We went the back way though as we didnt have gear to attempt going straight up 8)

Me over looking the valley.  If you look close you can see my truck way down there, it's just a spec.

This is on top of another peak that you can drive to.  Could this be a HAM repeater station?

It could very well be a repeater.  It's cool that it has solar panels and at least one wind turbine.  And a big propane tank too.  I'll bet that inside there is a bank of batteries and somewhere around there is a propane generator.  I'll bet they have a web cam or two and know you were there.  ;)
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

There were two more propane tanks on the other side of the building (what would be to the left of the picture) as well as two more solar panels on top.

If they have cameras all they would of seen is me and my bro climbing on top of the building, walking around, getting down, take a leak and some pictures and leave.  Those damn feds know everything!! :o

The pics look cool JR. I need to get out and hike with my kids before I'm to old to keep up with them.

Old age isn't what will prevent you from keeping up with them.....
