Not an AR but I have 2 STG-556's. One is 100% w/the SilverBear Zinc-coated steel cased ammo and the other is nearly so (every few hundred rds I get the occasional stuck casing). I wouldn't stockpile any steel-cased ammo for emergency use, get decent brass-cased ammo like the Prvi Partizan 55gr M193 (true 5.56 velocities, accurate, fragments like M193 and goes for $360/1,000rds here: http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=7169 I use the Silver Bear for practice/training & the Prvi Partizan for emergency use. Reliability w/steel-cased ammo varies from rifle to rifle, the only way to know how reliablie it is in your Bushy is to test a few hundred rds.

I've shot probably 1k rounds of the new Wolf .223 through my AR without any problems. I use it religiously on the Parma patrol shoots and long range shoots where I can't easily pick up my brass.

I've used Wolf in several of my weapons and have never had a problem with it.

To the OP - you mentioned a local store with a large stock of 7.62x39... care to share where you found that?  :)

Thanks, Jeff.

By the way - I forgot to mention earlier... Golden Bear is generally cleaner shooting.  :)

I have never had any problem shooting Wolf thru my Bushmaster shorty, but it won't cycle worth a shit in my Rock River Arms LAR-15 its worse than shooting a bolt action!!

I have shot mountains of Wolf steel cased ammo through less than highest quality ARs without a problem, ever.  Also, anyone that knows my shooting habits will tell you that I'm not a cleaning nazi when it comes to my weapons (at least for my non self defense stuff).  I'd say buy and shoot the stuff with confidence, but keep your junk cleaner than I used to keep mine.

I have seen this man put 500+ rounds of this stuff down range, through an AR, in just a couple of hours, with no problems.
