Well, my friend and I hit Montour this weekend... dog kicked up three roosters and we brought two home!  Yummy!

Awesome.  Montour is great when it's not full of hunters.

Yah, the birds are few and far between here, too, Nomad.  The places I used to hunt as a kid are all now big corporate farms with no cover, no edge, no nothing for the birds to survive in.  The WMA wasn't too bad yesterday - I think we saw 8 other hunters.  Has anyone ever gone to the Ft. Boise WMA?  Any good or too crowded?

I went to Ft Boise one day last season to shoot ducks and lend moral support to my buddy who was trying to fill his deer tag.  He was successful-shot a doe with 00 buck as she was swimming the Snake.  I only saw one pheasant, 100 or so quail, and lots of ducks.  I wouldn't bother unless you've got a boat with an outboard motor as the majority of the area is a series of islands that aren't accessable without a boat.  Lots of hunters the day I was there as well.  Sounded like a pretty serious fire fight for the first 15 minutes of daylight then things calmed down.
