I few weeks ago at one of the Pizza nights, Jeff passed around various tools for bob's etc. one item that caught my interest was the SabreCut Chainsaw tool.
Naturally being a guy, I tend to like things that cut, or go Bang.
After the end of the Show and tell, I wanted that Sabrecut chain saw, as it looked and felt like a quality must have tool. I think NGO also took an interest in it.
Fast forward a few weeks, took my father out for a day trip to Redfish lake yesterday, there were tons of trees that were cut down, due to the tornado that went thru that place a few months ago, plus many more that were over looked.
Then I remembered I had that Cool new SabreCut chainsaw begging to be used. found a semi-damaged tree that was over looked, the diameter was at least 10 inches, maybe 12 inches at most, maybe 35-40ft tall. really good sized.
there was hardly anyone on the lake, so I went to work, whipped out the SabreCut wrapped it around the tree, leaving only a few inches of chain to work with on each side.
This thing managed to cut thru the tree in no time flat, I didn't exert myself much, and basically took my time going at a moderate rate, once I was half way thru, I wedged a stick in the cut, and continued with the chore at hand, until I was about 90% thru, I stepped back and gave the tree a good heave, and down it came with a big crash, all I could say was Holy shit, that was too easy.
I imagine if I was in a hurry, I could've cut it down in less than 7 mins.
bottom line, this SabreCut cuts thru tree's and wood like a hot knife thru butter. I could probably build a Cabin with this little hand held chain saw, over all a good quality tool, for large to small jobs, and can be very useful where a chain saw is needed.
