I carry my CC weapon anyway and just walk in.
Interesting. When I went to the CCW class at the Sheriff's office the instructor said even for places that post signs, like clubs or perhaps the fair, you don't have to tell them you are carrying. I can see how owners of private property can ask you to leave it behind or ask you to leave the premises, and in return you can choose not to patronize their place of business, but I didn't think the fairgrounds would have that option. If a sign is posted "No Weapons" do any of you who carry with a CWP think twice about bringing your firearm along? How about gun shows? Same deal?
I went to the last gunshow. I saw no signs at the gate that said no firearms. I saw no signs anywhere. I consider a gunshow a high risk area. it makes no sense to prohibit you from carrying in a place filled with firearms and ammo. That being said, i didnt exactly go out of my way to ask if it was "OK" either.PS- It was such a waste of time that I doubt I will bother to attend another gunshow. It was just a pathetic swap meet. Everyones junk, nothing to whoo over.
I've been working at the fair this week, part of my job. I must say that I have not noticed any signs, nor have I been searched for weapons. That said, if your feeling uncomfortable about being at the fair un-armed, just head over to the Gazebo stage. I'm not saying I am armed, but then again, those little Keltec P3AT do conceal nicely. And if any of you do come by, say hi, it's a long boring day at the fair otherwise. Red head in the sound booth at the Gazebo.Brian
