You and me both...I've been dreaming of a slimmer framed 10mm forever now.  It would be perfect for my backcountry adventures.

I figured for my backcountry adventures I would deal with the size of the grip. I mean hell a person can't afford a Glock 20 for just plinkin. Lol. I just about crapped at sportsman's when I saw the prices for a box of 50. :'( But for running into something in the woods I don't want to I figured 15 rounds of 10mm versus 6 rounds of .357 was a lot better odds. ;D

That is my next purchase. I figure with all the pistols and rifles I have, I have been stupid not to have already invested in a reloader.

i sold my model 20 about a year ago... I actually liked the wider grip on it. as for ammo I like the
winchester 175 grain silver tips. they are full power loads. youll find that most 10mm factory ammo is down loaded. if the ftlbs is in the 400 range it is downloaded. the silvertips are at  649 ftlbs coming out of barrel.

I've got a Glock 20 and it has been simply outstanding!  Mine has proven reliable and accurate with every round I've put through it.  Luckily I have the means to reload for it, because ammo is on the expensive side.  If there was ever a Glock to own, it is the model 20, as I really don't like any of the other Glock's.  I had a Model 29 for a while and it was a accurate and fun little gun to shoot also, but it just didn't have the "flare" that the 20 has.

Everyone that I've talked to, who has had a Model 20 and then gotten rid of it, has always regretted it.

Good choice for the back country.

+1, I've been thinking about getting one for awhile. Lets face it. it's the only caliber that can go one on one with the .45 ACP and come out ahead performance wise!!   ;D

Nice gun!

I'm not particularly a Glock fan but I've been drooling over a Glock 20 for a LONG time.  It will be my next handgun purchase I think.

It seems like the 10mm has been gaining some momentum, I hope it continues.

Very nice Highwall  ;D ;D ;D how does it shoot compared to the .45 version?

Recoil is a little snappier, muzzle blast a little sharper.  More like shooting a .357 than a .45.  Racking the slide is higher effort due to a stronger recoil spring than in the typical .45.  18 lb. vs. 16 lb., I believe.  Fit on this Kimber is very good.  Trigger is decent enough.  Accuracy has been in the 2-2 1/2" range at 25 yards so far.  I haven't had a chance to play with different loads much yet.  It has nifty radioactive, glow-in-the-dark sights.

This gun flings brass like an HK91.  It tosses them more than 30 feet.  My .45's eject brass only 5 or 6 feet.  At least this Kimber throws them all in the same place, rather than all over like my .45's.  I still like the .45, but I've never understood why the 10 hasn't caught on more.

What ammo are you shooting out of it? My glock 20 doesn't have that bad of recoil at all. I was expecting alot worse. I haven't found much difference between my .45 and the 10. I do love the 10mm though and buying HSM 180gr FMJ is almost the exact same price as .45acp. Under $15 for a box of 50 isn't near as bad as I thought it would be. Oh and by the way Your Kimber is one beauty of a PISTOL. ;D

Mostly 175 gr Silvertips so far.  I agree with you about the recoil, it's not really that much more than a 45.  But it does feel different, because of the higher velocity, I guess.

Kimber does do nice work.  I think they are more consistent than Colt.

I love my Kimber.45. When money is right I want a Kimber 9mm and 10mm. I have some silvertips but haven't shot them yet. Are they pretty reliable as far as if I run into something in the woods?
