Did you guys see this about the DC gun ban?
« on: March 10, 2007, 10:16:26 AM »

Maybe it's not all doom and gloom.

Lets face it 95% of the gun laws out there *are* unconstitutional. And everyone knows it. Question is whether they care about the Constitution!

Read about that last night.  Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come like the obolishing of the NFA and GCA.  But then the high dollar collectors would be jumping out of windows when their collections are worth pennies on the dollar and LP's wife would never let him hear the end of it!  :o

Yeah, if FA's fell to about 2 - 3 thousand, I'd feel bad for LP, then I'd run out and buy a couple rifles with the happy switch.

I think LP's investment is safe however. Only in my wildest, most drug induced dreams can I imagine that the NFA and GCA would go away...

Hutch had mentioned the possibility of another "amnesty"  not sure what it would entail...possibly allow post dealer samples into the mix.  bringing the transferables from 175K to 3M. not sure of how many ARs would be in that batch  the reasoning was to make money of the transfer taxes.

Yea, definitely not holding my breath. They have talked about this before and people are still waiting.

Don't get me wrong, I like the ruling but...

I don't think the constitution is worth the toilet paper it's now printed on.

The politicians and courts will continue to wipe their asses with it so long as it fits their political agenda.

Not holding my breath either...but I am happy that this was brought up in DC of all places.

Still an uphill battle.

our AG was ever supporting the defendant? >:(

I was reading the ruling and when I saw the AG from Idaho on the list I fired off an e-mail to their office:
--
Within the brief is a list of those State Attorneys General who opposed appealing this case. Attorney General Wasden was listed as one opposed. Why is that? Why would the Attorney General from a freedom-loving state like Idaho join with those from such tyrannical states as Maryland, Massachusetts, and New Jersey in opposing the liberties guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution? A concerned constituent wants to know.
--

Literally minutes later this reply arrived:
--
Attorney General Wasden asked me to respond to your recent e-mail concerning the above referenced case. Idaho did sign on to this case. However, it was an error and once the error was discovered we withdrew on August 9, 2006. Please see the attached Notice of Withdrawal.

I hope this information is helpful.

The .pdf mentioned above was attached to the e-mail.
