Olympic Impressions
« on: August 10, 2008, 10:05:14 AM »
We gotta talk about the Olympics...right?!   ;D

Phelps is awesome!  Misty May and Kerri Walsh are gorgeous and kicking butt!  Cant wait to see Jenny Finch in softball!  Basketball I hope goes well, we really need the boost.  And the 41 year old female swimmer, that is AWESOME!  I, for one, am really happy to see our President there...I think it is awesome for him to show support in such a personal fashion.  People keep poo pooing here in the US on news but I think it is really cool that he is there.  Oh, and the sweep on fencing with the three female Americans is really swwweeeeettttttt.  Okay back to the games...I am soooo totally hooked.

I think I see a pattern.  You are a horndog, right?

I have been surprised by my reaction while watching.  I'm getting into it like I did back in '80.  ;)

The sweep in fencing was awesome.  And women's beach volleyball and swimming are fun to watch.  ;)
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

The opening ceremony was probably the best I have ever seen! It is why I was late to the night shoot.  ;D

Did you catch that awards ceremony when Phelps was on the podium and they were playing the Star-Spangled Banner and it stopped halfway through?  :stick:

Oh and being able to understand what everyone is saying without shoddy translations is pretty neat too.  :D

Trooper Brian, my family and I were watching the Awards ceremony when the Star Spangled Banner was cut off early. Another reason we should just nuke the communists.

There was something a bit off about the version they played.  I was singing along with it in my head and it seemed like the first part of the anthem repeated too many times before the rockets red glare.  And then there was the bit where it started part way through and was cut off at the end.  Not very professional at all.  The sound tech should get a talking to...

Hey now, the Chinese fought WITH the US in WWII! I have no problem with hating communism though, its stupid.

I've read lately that there has been evidence found by various news agencies stating that they range in age from 13 to 15yrs.  Said evidence always conveniently vanishes when they try to go back to find it again.  Great Firewall of China strikes again.

HA! I knew Shawn couldn't make it out of Beijing without a Gold...

I am pissing some people off on another message board because they are mostly in PDT...and see everything an hour after we do...and I am ruining the competition results...accidentally.  ;D

Johnson and Liukin obviously won that event, but there is no way the Chinese girl was third.  The scoring has been a bit "interesting".  Noticed the same thing in diving.

I watched the final round of the women s beach volley ball at a fair booth near the one that I was working. Damn good game, 18 - 21. The Chinese gals gave it a good go, but we were to much for 'em.  :)
